This 4 year course - run between Gurteen College and TUS (Thurles) - aims to provide students with a sound theoretical basis for understanding complex agricultural and environmental phenomena within a sustainable development context.

The aim of this 3 year course is to produce graduates with knowledge and skills in agriculture with a focus on sustainability. This course in run between Gurteen College and TUS (Thurles), with some time spent at both campuses.

This training will equip the learner with the knowledge and skills for employment opportunities in the industry. This course aims to provide students with knowledge and skills relating to riding, breaking and training horses, coaching, management of an equine Business, and encourage students towards Horse Sport Ireland and British Horse Society riding and coaching qualifications. It also provides opportunities for further education, and upon competition the student will receive "the Green Cert" too. 

This course aims to equip students for a career in drystock farming, whether it be managing a flock or herd on their own farm or as an employee elsewhere; it also provides opportunities for further education, and counts as "the Green Cert" too.

This course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need for a career in Dairy Farming, whether it be on their own farm or as a Technician or Manager on another farm; it also provides opportunities for further education, and counts as "the Green Cert" too.

Students explore the details of crop management in depth, learning the latest techniques in cultivation, pest control, irrigation, and soil health optimisation. From mastering the art of crop selection to implementing sustainable farming practices, students gain invaluable insights to maximise yield and profitability while minimising environmental impact.

This training will equip the learner with the knowledge and skills for employment opportunities in the industry. This course aims to provide students with knowledge and skills relating to riding, breaking and training horses, preparation for sale, and encourage students towards Horse Sport Ireland and British Horse Society riding and coaching qualifications. It also provides opportunities for further education, and counts as "the Green Cert" too.

This full time course takes one academic year to complete, and is typically followed by one of our full time Level 6 Advanced Certificate courses: Dairy Husbandry Management, Drystock Husbandry Management, or Crops & Machinery Management.

This course includes both the Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture and the Level 6 Specific Purpose Award in Farming, resulting in graduates having an award which fulfils all "Green Cert" purposes, and is open to anyone who already holds a non-agricultural major award at Level 6 or higher.
