Recreation & Sport
Students are encouraged to enjoy our on campus facilities which include football, hurling, rugby pitches, basketball court, soccer, tennis courts , sports hall and swimming pool.
Competitions include; Inter colleges 7 a-side football and hurling blitzes, 15 a-side football A championship and shield competitions, and inter colleges challenge day which includes welding, stock judging, tractor driving skills, soccer blitz, quiz.
Students organise social events including Macra club, bowling, go-kart racing and cinema.
Team Building and fundraising events are embedded into the programme of activities. Our students help support a range of charities. Fundraising activities include ‘Shave and Dye’, sponsored hike up Croagh Patrick, Bogathon and calf raffle.
Some of the highlights of the year include the Christmas party and the student graduation night.
In addition to on-campus facilities you can partake in mountain biking, golf, Birr leisure centre, shooting, karting, theatre, shopping, fishing and Hiking all within a 10 minute drive.
